Week 15: Wrapping Things Up & Looking Ahead

This has been a great course! I have enjoyed reading everyone's blogs post and seeing your Facebook posts on my feed. I have learned many things that will come in handy with my business and I hope I can increase the number of fans I have. Twitter is my next big project and need to be more confident about my marketing skills. I will try to be more creative when it comes to Instagram since this seems to be where I find the younger demographic going and even myself. I hope all you have a very successful campaigns on you social media platforms and that you have learned as much as I have. Happy Holidays to everyone and take care.

Week 14: Planning Future Strategy

I have to say that I feel very comfortable using Facebook with my business. I find it very easy to use some marketing skills to make my post interesting and effective. I have a really hard time with Instagram and the creative side to it, I take pictures and feel that they aren't the greatest and doubt their effectiveness. With Facebook I can work with many departments on campus to make their calls of action more successful with the use of a visuals and catchy wording. I find being able to schedule post very helpful and time saving when social media tends to be a 24/7 activity, sometime I like to turn off all electronics and just breathe. I know I have to be constant in my post and with scheduling post I am able to be there without really being there. I am very reluctant of Twitter when I know that sooner than later I am going to have to make it a part of my daily duties. I wish all of you the best and it has been a great semester!! See you all out in cyberspace.

Week 13: Optimizing Yourself and the Company

visit the Google analytics for business page and pick out which features you think would be the most beneficial to your business to check regularly and why, then write a blog post with this information?

I have to turn in weekly reports to show my success on social media, I have been using the reports provided by Facebook insight and having a second reporting agent will be helpful. With Google analytics think the best feature for me to use is the Custom Reports which can be built in minutes, and they're easy to share with colleagues.I have to email them to my Director and then she forwards them to others on the campus community.

Week 12 Online Marketing

What four additional online marketing tools do you believe could be important to the growth of your business?

I believe Palomar College would benefit from having a sucessful Youtube Channel to provide insight to students and propestive students on what college life will be. Doing online tutorials to how financial aid works, picking your classes, ask a counselor session and etc. would be a good place to look if you have any questions about Palomar College.

Twitter: To use concurrently with Facebook

Google Plus for Andriod users and Google fans

Tumblr: As a blog with pictures of all things college!

Week 11 Online Advertising

In our department we have a very limited budget for advertising and have used Facebook as a means to advertise for free and use the funds for more traditional advertising. If we were able to advertise on Facebook or Twitter I am sure we would go very strong promoting the start of a new semester and promote registration with the help of Enrollment Service. Having an incentive for students to "like" the official college fan page with ads poping up on their timeline if they are in the targeted age group and service area of the college with investing in the "Friends of Connections"

ads. I know the Performing Arts program could advertise their weekly performances with ads if people are already a fan of our page. Twitter could come in handy with followers who have other educational institutions on the feed with the college promoting our upcoming semester and other important dates. Tweets directing followers to our electronic class schedule could be successful since many people will click on links to see where it will lead them to. Since Facebook has worked as a free tool in promoting our different events and programs I think our marketing department will see how long they can keep going without having to pay for ads.
